The application has to scan a QR code with the built in camera of the mobile phone.
The screen must show the live capturing of the camera at anytime. When a QR code is detected and scanned, it is submitted via a web service to the server. The server will check for the code submited and return a response. Depending on that response the app will display a message on the screen indicating the server's response.
Any commercial library can be used, but no additional software can be installed on the device apart from the app.
